Really useful. Holds firmly the PCB and really eases the soldering process. The base is quite heavy and keeps everything in place at least for small and medium sized PCBs. It is also useful for circuit inspection with a magnifying lens. I use it along a four plastic pipe "third hand" setup, and it is excellent. The only thing missing is a component pushing element for some components that cannot be stabilized by bending the "legs", but can be easily attached (diy hack :-). Excellent value for money.

This is a solidly made tool to hold circuit boards for soldering. It is very well constructed, stable, easily adjustable and does the job supremely well. Just one small problem, the PCB supports seem to be two lefts, rather than a left and a right, placing one of the adjusters at the rear instead of the front. While this is simplicity itself to work around and has no effect once a PCB is mounted it just detracts from the finish of a superb product, hence 4 out of 5. If you are working with PCBs you would be well advised to have one of these, it will make your life easier.

It does what it says but the locking wheels on the base slide are so small it is virtually impossible to tighten them by hand. I solved it by drilling the base with holes for it's full length and using pins to lock the pillars in place but then a simpler solution is to replace the locking bolts with Allen head M4 bolts and use an Allen key. You could use pliers or such to tighten the locking wheel but I would imagine that would damage them eventually. It is a design flaw that needs addressing in the long term. Another problem is when rotating the PCB to work on the other side the end of the spring on one of the clamps catches, jamming the rotation. I solved that by putting a small washer at each end of the spring and files the end of the spring a little smoother. All in all it is a good tool but in need of little better finishing.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Comes neatly packaged and requires a little bit of assembly, but if your buying one then you should have the skills to put it together. To use , just set the base width, pop your board in and tighten the clamps. You have to remember to set the width slightly short so the spring loaded side pushes against the board. If set too loose the board will slide out or move around. I would have given five stars if the clamp faces had a soft rubber or foam surface to better grip the board as it would make setting up easier by allowing a looser fit. All in all, a neat and good value item to help make soldering or even testing less of a chore.

I have been using this pcb work holder daily since I received it and I find it indispensable now. It is a fairly sturdy build with decent materials and a weight which assists in keeping it in one place on your worktop. Not having to chase it around the work area with every light touch is a great bonus. My only small gripe is that the longitudinal adjustment locking screws seem to slip no matter how tight I make them. All other adjustment and fasteners work as expected. This is just an annoyance for me and the reason for deducting one star, however it doesn't detract from it being an essential piece of equipment at a reasonably cheap price.
