I was shopping for a Blu Ray to replace my broken 8+ year old Panasonic DVD player, and wanted a Samsung ONLY because I had a Samsung LCD TV. Was going to buy the 3600 model because I like the case better, this 4600 has a roundish oblong case I am not fond of, but it was a good price. I would go with the 3600 if I had to do it over. Cheaper and more "placement friendly". I do not like having to hunt for the disk side load slot, and its' ODD shape and side slot placement makes placement of this player a challenge in itself. 1.) PROS Excellent picture, even regular DVDs and Audio CDs seem better. Starts playing much quicker than my old DVD player it replaced. Excellent price, 295.95 including shipping, NIB unit factory sealed. I have the 720st home theater system and Samsung LCD TV, so remotes work (usually) on any one of the bunch. Looking forward to streaming Netflix once I get it all set up on my wireless network. 2.) CONS LOUSY customer support, links to downloads have not worked in the two weeks I have been trying. NONE of the customer support email addresses work when you click the "contact us" button. I think next time I will buy SONY since I know their website and service is MUCH better. EXTERNAL power supply is a pain in the a**. Touch controls seem to work irratically. Do NOT like the disk loading on the SIDE of the player, makes placement very limited, and hard to load if you CAN'T SEE the slot. ANNOYING sounds produced at start up and power down (can't disable????) Remotes work on all three of my Samsung products (Anynet), BUT they are all different enough that it is sometimes difficult to find the correct functions on all the remotes. Did I mention the website and customer support are worst than lousy???? Don't buy if you think you may need assistance, it just ain't there.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The Samsung BD-P4600 Blu-Ray Player is definitely no slouch of a machine. With a unique and excellent exterior design that is sexy and minimalistic, makes this unit a designer item that looks great in front of an entertainment system. Plus, since this comes with a wall mount, it can be attached to the wall with all wires hidden away for your satisfaction. A wireless adapter is also included that plugs into one of the two USB ports, which can be used to access BD-live content as well as stream directly from Netflix and Pandora. The player loads blu-rays quite quickly, as just as quick or even faster than a ps3 and has great menu layouts as well. The only gripe that I have is the lack of file support to watch downloaded hd movies that are in mkv and other audio formats. Overall great unit and a definite buy for anyone looking for an awesome blu-ray player.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The BD-P4600 is an awesome unit. It play Blurays in absolute stunnign detail and handles loading quickly. The wireless connectivity was easy to setup and worked flawlessly. The only issue I have (and everyone i have talked to that owns one) is that you can launch the netflix app and it will work fine. If you power off the unit then turn it back on and try to launch the netflix app you get an error saying netflix is unavailable. It then requires you to unplug the unit and plug it back in for netflix to work again. I called netflix and samsung and neither had a good answer. Samsung wants me to send the unit back but I don't think that will work because it appears to be a netflix app issue, if you try to use pandora when netflix reports the error pandora works just fine.. they need a firmware update to fix the issue. These things can grab firmware off the internet so they need to USE THAT FEATURE! That is my only complaint... everything else works like champ.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Pros: Has a very Elegant look and Quite sleek. The upgrade of DVD picture is very good and has excellent blueray quality. Cons: Makes a hell lot of noise when the DVD is inserted. Also the DVD gets stuck in between and does not play there after. Quite frustating. Does not play DVD+R/RW. Have not tried the other features namely netflix and Pandora. Not worth the money
An excellent BluRay DVD player. This one was an upgrade from the Samsung BD-P1500. Faster upload of BluRay and a sharper picture than the 1500. Like any new electronic stuff, I was forced to replace my three-year old wireless router with a new one to maintain a strong 802.11N signal. However, there was a wireless feature with my Samsung LCD TV that also improved. (The 4600 is in the Touch of Color feature that Samsung has and is in my TV so I paid the premium over the BD-P3600, which had the same features but without the Touch of Color design.) Now I'm trying out the wireless connection to Netflix. There are a lot of free downloads with wireless with the minimum monthly subscription.(Does not download advanced sound like Dolby or DTS.) Pandora works great and provides another source of music mixes in addition to the IPOD that plugs into my Denon A/R. I find YouTube connectivity nice but not a feature I would demand. While there is a wall mounting kit, I can't see using it as the plug and the HDMI cable would hang down from wall.Vollständige Rezension lesen
