Approx. recovered weight: 17 stones of total 565 g 
 

17 stones of 565 g total were found on the surface of the desert. Nature of recovery site: rocky planes with carbonate stones, low areas covered with quarz-carbonate sand overgrown by low small bushes.

One of the lowest known petrologic numbers for an L chondrite. This specimen will provide some collector with a highly desirable L3.1.

Classification: L3.1; shock stage S3; weathering grade W3; PMD Ol 41.5; Bulk Fe (metal) 9.95 wt%. PMD Co in kamasite 61. TL measurements show figures in the range of 0.0046-0.01 (A.I. Ivliev, Vernad).

Key classification information: Fa of olivine is 1.14-39.2 (mol %), Fs of pyroxene is 2.23-30.1 (mol %). Analyzed by Dr. N. N. Kononkova, Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry RAS.

Es ist der Einzige bis 2002 auf dem Meteoriten-Markt mit der offiziellen Klassifizierung eines L3.1.

2002 kam der NWA 2118 mit 42gr. als L3.1 bis heute hinzu.

Insgesamt gibt es 9 Antarctic Meteorite dieser Klasse, aber dieses Material wird nie auf dem Markt erscheinen.
