Marshall DSL (OT: MAR50-O) Tony from England

My verdict? Well, there's a bit of attenuation of upper treble, which is shame, but I can almost accommodate that, but the benefits in terms of clarity and "cleanness" far outweigh that. There is a slight perceived loss of distortion for the same gain setting, which I do not mind - I am not a high gain player (or I would not use a DSL), hence the "cleanness" comment, but this improves the dynamic range and if I thump the strings, I still get the crunch that I want. It's interesting to me to discover just how much of the distortion was coming from the OT rather than the valves. More so on the red channel which I never really used before now (boosted crunch is where I normally sit), and indeed the red shows the greatest improvement, to my ears. I now have a two channel amp!
So, an expensive lump of iron, but worth it I think, and that's even with my tin ears.

Marshall DSL (Choke: MAR100-C) Gabor from Hungary

As I promised, I‟m writing a short report from my Mercury choke:
The Marshall TSL and DSL series amps have no choke because it's replaceable with a cheap resistor. So I removed the R71 resistor from my Marshall DSL-100 and installed the Mercury MAR100-C.
The difference is huge with the choke. The bass is tighter, the sound is clearer and more "opened" at high volume. The response of the amp is much better. It's like the JCM800.
I'm very happy now because it's a very nice upgrade for the DSL.

Marshall DSL (OT: MAR50-O) Roel from Holland

The amp pronounces the music so you can understand what is being played and it is much more dynamic. Vintage Greenback 12M sounds like Vintage Greenback 12M and Gibson sounds like Gibson again. The choke stopped the humming of the PT.
The channels are no more as schizophrenic as they were. Now they match.

Marshall TSL 60 (OT: M-TSL60-O, Choke: MAR100-C) Paul from Northern Ireland

huge improvement over stock output tranny. Cleaner, clearer, more natural harmonics come through smooth distortion, not that horrible noise that comes from the stock output tranny when the volume goes past 5. With the ToneClone choke the bottom end is by far tighter than before. Far superior pick response with these two upgrades + with SOZO capacitors my amp is now a serious animal without any ear fatigue.
